Our France travels continue

Well I haven't been very good at blogging every day...it's really a good idea if you can. I will try to continue starting now!
I've been to a few chateaux; Chambord, Amboise, Blois. I've been to Paris for a few days and traveled down the Seine River at dusk and saw the Eiffel Tower light up, I've traveled many a 'Metro', ate amazing foods, and I've had my pockets picked. I've also picnicked in the Chambord forest and went to a natural pool (though it was full so we couldn't swim). I've eaten pizza with very thin crust, ground beef, ham, cheese, french fries, ketchup and an baked egg in the centre, it was really good.
Tonight we went to Fredo's/his parents farm and enjoyed rosee wine. The farm is very busy with cows and calves for meat and they also raise world class prize bulls, they have 2 right now. They also house 7500 chicks just born today and will keep them until they are 2 months old (3kg). Fredo has all the toys, tractors, ATV's, trucks, trailers, they also grow corn and keep a 'Gite', very common in Europe to rent to travelers for a week at a time. We finished up today with dinner at Michelle and Fredo's with Marie, French omelets and salad with of course the baguette and more rosee with grapefruit juice (so refreshing), the meal finished with chocolate yoghurt for me and icecream cones for everyone else. Amelia and Lindsay played UNO with Antoine and Michelle, Amelia won followed by Antoine and Lindsay...Michelle elle n'as pas gagner. It's Midnight now and I will retire to my room now...bonne nuit toute le monde!

Tea at Chateau du Clos Luce

Monday July 5

Our day began out by 10am, 1 hour later than we planned, oh well. No trouble travelling to Amboise, thanks to Lucille, our GPS. Found the tourist info centre and headed to the Chateau Amboise and Chateau du Clos Luce, where Leonardo Da Vinci lived for 3 years and he died also. We are having tea and crepes outside on the Italian style terrace planted with roses in a boxwood setting around a lake bordered with pine trees, cypresses, and yews. Lindsay is updating facebook and the weather is beautiful. We will not be getting to Tours as planned today as we are enjoying the castles beacoup.
